I don't like dieting.

Most of you may know that I am not a small guy.  I have been a large man for my entire adult life.  I recently decided that it was time to change that.  In the last month, I have gone on a "diet".

That word is in parentheses because when I tell people that I am on a diet, they tend to think that I am going to try something different for a while and either give up or gain the weight back right away.

This is not what I am doing, I have made a change in my eating habits.  I am no longer drinking sugary drinks, that means no soda, unsweet tea only and most juices are out.

I am doing more to watch what I eat now than I will do once I reach my goal weight, but that really only means that I'll stop limiting my meals to 400 calories, once I lose the weight, I will continue to eat more veggies, fruits and all the good things that I have been doing.  I will however "cheat" from time to time once I reach that goal weight.

Now on to the more interesting part of this.  I am 5 feet and 5 inches tall (yeah, short).  When I started this eating plan a month ago, I weighed 274 pounds (yeah, FAT).  After one month I now weigh 244 pounds.

Applause are in order.  My clothes fit better, my stamina has improved and I have gone down an entire pant size.

On top of eating better, I bought a bike that I try to ride at least twice, if not three times a week.  I take a walk at 3 O'clock every day while at work and have had a few co-workers join me.

When I have lost 100 pounds I will re-evaluate my plan and possibly go even a little further, but for now I am happy and getting healthy.

I realize that is not an entertaining post and that I have not posted about the dinners that I have made in a while, but I changed job and I am not getting home at 7:30pm so my wife is making dinner.  I will rework this blog some and maybe make it more of a weight loss and journey blog.  We shall see, ideas are welcome in the comments!!!
